The Fall 2014 ad campaigns for fashion’s biggest design houses have been released and while the clothes are undeniably eye-catching, we’re naturally zooming in on the shiny jewels. Starting with Chanel, model of the moment Cara Delevingne sports the house’s famous tweed design with a pearl rosary-style necklace worn on her hand, as well as a bevy of chunky pearl cocktail rings. This look is especially relevant because pearls are having a major comeback moment right now. But these aren’t your grandmother’s dainty pearls — this time it’s all about wearing pearls in an entirely new way! Whether it’s stacked together or juxtaposed with a little bit of leather to edge things up, pearls are definitely in right now.
Versace’s ad campaign mixes fur with a luxurious crocodile bag, but all we can focus on is that gorgeous gold chunky cocktail ring that model Anna Ewers is rocking. Upon further inspection, we notice that she’s wearing another cocktail ring on her other hand. The lesson here? You no longer need to just stick to just one cocktail ring when going out.
At the house of Fendi, a feathery bracelet captures our attention for its glamorous texture. If you’re not into feathers around your wrist, let this look inspire you to experiment with other textures such as leather, rope, and beads.
It’s hard not to stare at Miranda Kerr’s beautiful face, but take a peek down and you’ll see her statement Swarovski jewels. Her look fuses a chunky mixed-metal chain necklace with a matching bracelet, along with a few other shiny bangles. The takeaway here is that chain jewellery is still going strong and we see no signs of it stopping.
And finally, perhaps the most subversive look of the bunch is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s sharp horn knuckle ring for Prabal Gurung. Knuckle rings have been around for some time now, but this campaign proves that they can indeed veer into sophisticated, high-fashion territories.
