Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are respected fashion designers with a high-end label, The Row, that has a coveted spot at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC. So it should come as no surprise that when their friend Molly Fishkin asked them to create her wedding dress — they agreed. The result is nothing short of a beautiful. The design was a classic white lace gown with romantic bell sleeves and a scooped neckline. In a sea of strapless dresses that walk down many aisles these days, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s long-sleeved design is a breath of fresh air. The bride chose to not overthrow her stunning dress by wearing no jewellery. While embellishments and over-the-top silhouettes can be fun, in the case of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s creation, less really is more.
Of course, we can’t talk about the designing twins without mentioning what they wore to the outdoor wedding. Ashley donned a colorful printed maxi dress accessorized with stacked bangles and a cocktail ring. Meanwhile, Mary-Kate rocked an embellished black maxi dress with colourful earrings and two massive cocktail rings. While we don’t think Mary-Kate and Ashley were bridesmaids at this wedding, their unique looks can inspire brides to think outside the box when it comes to their bridal party by having them wear similar dresses in different designs.
