Luxury lovers in New Delhi rejoice; Bulgari’s doors have just opened! The iconic jewellery empire opened its first store with the intent of bringing the Indian customer base the four major facets of the Bulgari brand: jewellery, luxury watches, premium accessories and high-end perfumes.
The brand was previously available in India from 2004 to 2011 through franchisee partners. Disappointed with sales and distribution, the brand pulled stock from retailers.
“Today, it’s a different story. There are now luxury mall projects, besides New Delhi and Bangalore, which will appeal to our targeted customer base, and these present a larger growth potential. Our expansion strategy should, however, consist of a selective mix of luxury malls and a few top luxury hotels,” says Jean-Cristophe Babin, Chief Executive Officer for Bulgari. Babin also notes that the Asian market continues to be a focal point for the ever-expanding empire.
