The past few years have been pivotal in the plight for gay rights. Same-sex marriage is not only a topic on everyone’s minds, but also a focal point of many political campaigns.
Tiffany & Co’s progressive new advertisement takes a stance on the topic, and shows us that engagements and proposals come in all shapes and sizes, a concept that is rarely explored in mass-market advertising of this kind. Their newest campaign features a real-life NYC same-sex couple (that’s right, not models!) excited about their upcoming nuptials.
“Nowadays, the road to marriage is no longer linear, and true love can happen more than once with love stories coming in a variety of forms. The Tiffany engagement ring is the first sentence of the story that a couple will write together as they create a life that is deeply intimate and exceptional, which is the message we hope to convey through this campaign” says Linda Buckley, Tiffany’s VP of North American PR.
