With all the buzz that high fashion runways garner, we’re more than happy to take a breather from the front row, celebrity mayhem and focus on something near and dear to our hearts: weddings! It’s no wonder that we’ve kept a close eye on all the happenings of New York Bridal Fashion Week, which has taken over The Big Apple.
Timed perfectly to the beginning of wedding season, but focused on spring of the year ahead (2016), bridal fashion week shows us all of the innovative and envelope-pushing trends from top designers in the wedding world. Let’s dive right in!
We were pleasantly surprised to find tuxedo inspired pantsuits (for the bride, not groom!) gracing the runways of Pamella Roland and Naeem Khan. On the other end of the spectrum, deep, plunging necklines were the name of the game at Angel Sanchez, Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa.
But perhaps our favorite takeaway of the shows we’ve oogled thus far is the introduction of the “cutout” to the bridal space. Seen for seasons on contemporary runways, designers like Theia, Vera Wang and Reem Acra borrowed this skin-baring element from their ready-to-wear counterparts.
